Main        March 2006      May 2006 The Linn Grove Regular City Council meeting was held at the Linn Grove Community Center on April 10, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.  Note: The notice of the change of date for meeting was posted and aired on local radio stations. Mayor Smith called the meeting to order. Members present: Weier, Jurgensen, Ellis, Nelson. Members absent: Hicks. In attendance: None. Adopt the Agenda.  Moved by Ellis to adopt the agenda.  Seconded by Nelson.  All ayes.  Motion carried. Approve Previous Meeting Minutes.  Moved by Jurgensen to approve previous meeting minutes as read from March 9, 2006.  Seconded by Ellis.  All ayes.  Motion carried. Old Business. Fire Department.  Council discussed status of fire department.  Lawn Mower.  Council was informed the old town mower has been sold. Library Board Report.  Moved by Ellis to approve Mayor Smith’s appointment of Sara Fassler to the Linn Grove Library Board replacing Barbara Wadsley.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  All ayes.  Motion carried. Maintenance Report.  Council discussed cleanup of maintenance/fire station and snow equipment.  City Clerk Report.  Set Public Hearing Date-Amending Current Budget.  Moved by Nelson to approve Resolution 2006-10, a Resolution to approve setting time and place for a public hearing for the purpose of soliciting written and oral comments on amending the City’s current budget.  The public hearing will be held at the Regular City Council meeting at the Linn Grove Community Center on May 11, 2006 at 7:10 p.m.  Seconded by Ellis.  A roll call vote was taken with voting as follows:  Ellis-Aye, Jurgensen-Aye, Nelson-Aye, Weier-Aye, Hicks-Absent.  Motion carried. Amending Ordinance-Raising Sewer Rates.  Moved by Ellis to adopt 1st reading of Ordinance No. 804, an Ordinance amending Title II Public Service and Public Health Chapter 2 Sanitary Sewer Article 8.02 amending rate.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  A roll call vote was taken with voting as follows: Jurgensen-Aye, Nelson-Aye, Ellis-Aye, Weier-Aye, Hicks-Absent.  Motion carried.  Moved by Nelson to waive the 2nd & 3rd readings of Ordinance No. 804.  Seconded by Weier.  A roll call vote was taken with voting as follows: Nelson-Aye, Ellis-Aye, Weier-Aye, Jurgensen-Aye, Hicks-Absent.  Motion carried.  Moved by Ellis to adopt Ordinance No. 804, amending Sanitary Sewer Rates Section. Article 8.02.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  A roll call vote was taken with voting as follows: Ellis-Aye, Weier-Aye, Jurgensen-Aye, Nelson-Aye.  Motion carried.  The new sewer rates will be as follows: First 2500 gallons or lesser amount per month @ $6.70 (minimum bill) and all over 2500 gallons per month @ $3.70 per 1,000 gallons.  Clean-up Day.  May 20th will be clean-up day in Linn Grove.  Notices will be posted regarding price list for items that need to be tagged for pick-up.  Correspondence/Misc.  None. Announcements-Open Forum.  Mayor and Council talked about the possible need for abatements to certain residences.
