Main        June 2006        August 2006 The Linn Grove Regular City Council Meeting was held at the Linn Grove Community Center on July 13, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Smith called the meeting to order. Members present: Hicks, Nelson, Jurgensen, Weier, Ellis.                                                                                           Members absent: None.                                                                                                                                                      In attendance: Jim Wise, Chris Hoffman.                                                                                                                         Adopt the agenda.  Moved by Nelson to adopt the agenda.  Seconded by Ellis .  All ayes.  Motion carried. Approve previous meeting minutes.  Moved by Ellis to approve previous meeting minutes as read from June 8, 2006 amending “Driveway Repairs” to read as follows: Council and Larry Sangl discussed cost of repairs regarding moving driveway culvert into lower Bluff Street.  Sangl agreed he would pay for the repairs.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  All ayes.  Motion carried. Old Business. Park Board Report.  A list of donors will be placed up by the gazebo regarding donations made to school monument park.  Library Board Report.  None. Maintenance Report.  Street Repairs.  Council discussed needed repairs due to soil erosion located coming down Weaver Street and trees that need to be trimmed coming down Linn Street.  The City will be flushing hydrants June 21st, 2006.  Annual maintenance was done to storm sewers. City Clerk Report.  Building Permit Request.  Moved by Ellis to approve building permit request from J&K Bait Shop (Vanderhoff) for a 16’x20’ building located at 201 Main Street Linn Grove.  Seconded by Weier.  All ayes.  Motion carried.  Abatements.  Moved by Weier to send abatements to 2 residents.  Seconded by Ellis.  All ayes.  Motion carried.  Linn Grove Fire Dept./Fire Chief Appointment.  Jim Wise and Chris Hoffman from Sioux Rapids discussed with Mayor and Council about entering into a mutual aid agreement.  Moved by Nelson to approve appointment of Roger Warkentin as the Linn Grove Fire Chief for a 2-year term effective July 1st, 2006 to June 30th, 2008.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  All ayes.  Motion carried.  Correspondence/Misc.  Council was informed of a sanitary survey inspection report.  Announcements-Open Forum.  None.
