The Linn Grove Regular City Council meeting was held on November 10, 2004 at the Linn Grove Community Center at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Graesing called the meeting to order.

Members present: Jurgensen, Smith, Wadsley, Ellis.

Members absent: Weier.

In attendance: None.

Moved by Smith to adopt the agenda.  Seconded by Wadsley.  Motion carried.

Moved by Ellis to approve previous meeting minutes as read from October 13, 2004.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  Motion carried.

Old Business.

Business Property Agreement.  The Scholten’s have terminated their lease with the City of Linn Grove and the keys were returned to the City for The Linn Grove Landing.  The City is now in possession of this building.  Negotiations will begin in near future to rent/lease the building.  1988 Pick-up sold.  Council was informed that the old city truck has been sold for $600 and City logo signs have been put on the new City truck.

New Business.

Approval of Bills.  Moved by Smith to approve all bills as presented.  Seconded by Wadsley.  Motion carried.

Library Board Report.  The library will be having a bake sale November 20th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon for a fundraiser.

Park Board Report.  The matching funds of $1800 have been met for the gazebo.  Adeline Petersen has donated $2000.00 towards the gazebo.  Moved by Wadsley to authorize Mayor Graesing to purchase the gazebo with the donated funds.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  Motion carried.  Council discussed purchasing another linden tree for the one that died. 

Maintenance Report.  Council was informed that the house located at 401 Broadway is to be burnt down on 11/13/04 weather permitting.  Moved by Ellis to hire Jud Graesing for foundation clean-up of property located at 401 Broadway.  Seconded by Wadsley.  Motion carried.  The gates have been installed down by the City burn site and City personnel will have to be contacted for access. Building permit request.  Moved by Ellis to approve building permit request for Arnie & Donna Hicks for a house addition 7’x14’ patio 8’ and tool building addition located at 209 West High St. Linn Grove.  The cost for the permit is $50.00.  Seconded by Wadsley.  Motion carried.

City Clerk Report.  Annual payment for the community center building was made $5807.91 leaving the unpaid balance of $29,479.14.  The delinquent utility bill for Parcel #02-08-154-003 has been collected with the general property taxes.  Snow Maintenance Agreement.  Moved by Ellis to approve Resolution 2004-9, a Resolution to enter into a maintenance agreement with Buena Vista County for the 2004-2005 snow season and authorizing Mayor or City Clerk as a duly authorized representative to sign maintenance agreement.  Seconded by Jurgensen.  A roll call vote was taken with voting as follows: Ellis-Aye, Jurgensen-Aye, Wadsley-Aye, Smith-Aye.  Clerk will be attending the upcoming budget workshop in Sheldon.  Moved by Wadsley to have Northwest Aging/Dinner Date pay $30 a month for the use of the community center to help defray heating & cooling costs.  Seconded by Ellis.  Motion carried.

Moved by Wadsley to adjourn.  Seconded by Smith.  Time—8:15 p.m.
