Sioux Rapids to Linn Grove: 8.5 miles – 4 hours

Linn Grove to Peterson: 14 miles – 6.5 hours

$30 canoe and kayak rental with a $4 discount Tuesday through Friday (except on holidays) when renting 2 or more canoes.

A favorite gathering place, Linn Grove Landing patrons watch as Monte carves and fashions a wooden Walleye. “Here I can show people my tools and demonstrate how I work,” says Monte. “It all kind of works out with selling bait, renting canoes and serving coffee.”

Why is Linn Grove a Special Place?

Linn Grove is nestled in the valley of the Little Sioux River. We have something here you can’t find anywhere else. There is a unique, native reserve of beautiful landscapes and talented, creative, hard working people.

“Fishing is always good here,” explains Monte.  “With water levels up, conditions are excellent for canoeing.” The self-guided canoe float from Sioux Rapids to Linn Grove takes about 4 – 5 hours. It all depends on how aggressive people paddle along.
